Jonathan Linkous, chief executive officer of the American Telemedicine Association and iCons in Medicine Member, recently discussed the use of telemedicine technologies. Telemedicine can be used either to connect patient to physician, or to provide patients with information and for self-monitoring, according to Mr. Linkous. NASA has even utilized telemedicine technologies to allow doctors to consult with astronauts from Mission Control.
